Pink pearls are just so marvellous you can’t help but fall in love with them. I absolutely love pink pearls because you can never go wrong with this colour. What makes these pearls so spectacular is not just their superb colours, but also the overtones they tend to exhibit.
Natural coloured pink pearls, produced by fresh water mussels, come in a variety of shades all the way from soft pink to glowing peach and so many hues in between. Pink pearls also seem to have the most beautiful overtones. An overtone is the sublime hint of secondary colour that is visible on the surface of the pearl only when the pearl catches the light. The actual colour of the pearl can be similar to or quite different from its overtone. With pink pearls, the overtones can go from gold to rose to even a little aquamarine.
Pink pearls are versatile enough to easily go from day to night and even a single strand of pink pearls may go from soft pink to rose gold as natural light changes. Pink pearls are just the right shade between the classic white single strand and the bold colours of the Tahitian and Golden South Sea pearls. In addition, being fresh water, pink pearls are not very heavy on the wallet but don’t skimp on beauty and value.
I got my first pink pearls necklace many years ago as a wedding gift from my husband’s cousin. I was so completely awed by the beauty of these pearls that for a long time my entire wardrobe was styled around this necklace. Even to this day, I naturally gravitate towards pink pearls whenever I go looking for some jewelry.
So, if you don’t own any pink pearls, maybe now is the time to give them a try and if you do have some pink pearls in your jewelry box, then like me, wear them with joy. After all, happiness is a beautiful pearl!
